Surface Wire

A flat wire variation on the surface bar.
The surface wire (not yet an official term), is an enhanced form of the surface bar, meant to maximize the surface area (thereby allowing a large and solid fistula to form), but also minimizing the volume (thereby creating almost no displacement in tissue).
The surface wire was developed by Tom Brazda, the piercer credited with creating and certainly perfecting surface bar technique. While tests so far have been limited, they have also been quite successful (as common sense would suggest).
