Tattoo Incision Damage

From BME Encyclopedia

It may at times be necessary to make an incision through a tattoo during surgery. While doctors do usually do their best to both avoid the tattoo, and to put the tattoo back together, it will rarely look the same as it did initially due to tattoo incision damage.

After the wound is healed, the scar can be tattooed over (ie. a tattoo touch-up or tattoo cover-up), or the surrounding tattoo can be removed with a laser.
