Nerves are organs which are part of the central nervous system that are much like electrical cables, as in there are many components together in a bundle, such as blood vessels and sensory fibers.

Nerves begin at the spinal cord, and are responsible for transmitting messages to and from the brain. Messages from the brain, for example, could be things such as movement, where as messages to the brain could include sensory feelings such as physical pleasure and pain. For example, if you go to the dentist and they drill into a tooth, a sudden, sharp pain could indicate that a nerve has been hit.
