Clive Barker is a writer, artist who was born in Liverpool, England in October 1952. He is currently a Los Angeles resident.

A writer and visual artist since childhood, Barker's work ranges from the most visceral horror on the shelves to fully illustrated books aimed at younger readers. His creations over the years have been made into film and comic book properties, and include some of the most famous horror films of the 1980s and 1990s.

Of special interest are his Cenobites from the novella "The Hellbound Heart." Best described as "S&M priests from Hell," these characters have inspired the piercing and suspension communities in ways that Barker could have never dreamed.

In 2006, Clive designed a one-of-a-kind cutting for a ScarWars attendee.

Shawn Porter of SPC says:

"Clive Barker, creator of the Hellraiser Cenobites, has been a very vocal tattoo fan over the years, though he has, as of the last interview on the subject, not been tattooed... However, an spcOnline spy confirms that the same is NOT true for piercings!"
