A chunk ring is a large-gauge ring with an equally large bead on it. The bead is typically screwed on, rather than held in by spring pressure as with a captive bead ring (it's basically a giant screw-on CBR).

Many people find the extra weight afforded them by a chunk ring extremely stimulating. The term was originally coined by the jewelry company Wildcat who machined these large rings out of a solid piece of metal, rather than winding rod.
