Photography by Charles Gatewood

A fetish photographer who has collaborated with William Burroughs, Spider Webb and Fakir Musafar (among others), Charles Gatewood has been photographing the "seedier side" of American life for over three decades. His work at the HellFire Club, Mardi Gras, and NYC's party, drug, and gay scenes led him into the body modification area. He's been shooting the community ever since.

A self-admitted voyeur, Charles only has one tattoo, a poppy that Spider Webb put on his asscheek in the 1970's.

Books of his work of interest to this community include: Forbidden Photographs, Primitives, True Blood and Badlands.
