...basically wikipedia formatting suggests that everything should be put in the most specific category/ies possible. So... take Ear Spiral for example. It is a both body modification and a piece of jewelry. What kind of modification is it? A piercing? What sort of piercing? An ear piercing. So it goes into the Ear Piercings and Body Jewelry categories. Basically keep asking yes/no questions until you get to the highest level.
Another example: Fudomyo-O. It is a Japanese cultural historical tattoo design. Original categories: Japanese, History, Cultural, Tattoos, Motifs, Reference. History, Cultural and Tattoos (via Body Modifications) are in Reference, so they trump that. "Japanese" is categorised in both History and Cultural, so it trumps both of those. Motifs are all Tattoos, so it trumps that. Final categorisation: Japanese, Motifs.

Make sense? ...let me know. (pas des chiens 04:17, 3 May 2006 (EDT))

As I mentioned on your talk page, this is not the convention currently being used. Russgrue 04:38, 3 May 2006 (EDT)

wow... that's... eh, okay. I can deal with that. One of the problems of not having access to the forums, I guess. It just makes no sense! *sigh* (pas des chiens 04:44, 3 May 2006 (EDT))

That is a very big problem, you should email glider ASAP to correct that. All style choices are being made there not in talk pages. Russgrue 04:47, 3 May 2006 (EDT)

It's a problem with a very simple explanation - I'm not a BME member. I guess I just assumed that we'd be sticking to the Wikipedia conventions, but eh. Live and learn. Given my calendar, I've got other commitments that'll take over the encyclopedia stuff for a while, hopefully when I get back I'll have a picture and membership. :) (pas des chiens 05:01, 3 May 2006 (EDT))

Good to hear, it's nice to see another aussie doing their part. Russgrue 05:02, 3 May 2006 (EDT)

linking...

...I'm still not back properly, but I'm noticing you're changing a lot of lowercase links to Uppercase|lowercase ...is this another convention from the forums, or is this a personal choice? They end up at the same place (for singleword links) because the wiki software automatically capitalises the first word... so, to me, it seems odd to change it to a piped link - but, if that's what's wanted, I can do that. (PS: it's a friday night, what are you doing online?!) ...pas des chiens 10:50, 5 May 2006 (EDT)

Gday pasdeschiens, yes Wiki capitalises the first letter, it's convention to capilalise all words and yes it is a personal preference to use piped links to reduce the "redirect from"'s... :) Russgrue 11:08, 5 May 2006 (EDT)
