Biography
Born June 9, 1963 in Owensboro, Kentucky, USA, Johnny Depp is an actor with over 40 film credits to his name.
Johnny has several tattoos in his collection, most of which are special just to him. On the middle of his upper right arm, he has a Cherokee Indian head, in honor of his heritage. While engaged to Winona Ryder, he had "Winona forever" tattooed on his upper right arm. After they broke up, he famously had the "n" and "a" surgically removed with a laser to simply say "Wino forever."
On his left arm, he has a heart with tribal around it with the name "Betty Sue," which is his Mother's name, in the heart. He also has the name "Lily-Rose" above his heart, in honor of his first child with singer Vanessa Paradis.
Johnny's character in the film Pirates of the Caribbean, Capt. Jack Sparrow, has a tattoo on his right forearm of a swallow over a sunset with the name Jack under it, and a 'P' brand (for 'Pirate'). Johnny liked the tattoo enough to actually have it permanently tattooed on him after the film wrapped. He did change it so the sparrow is flying towards him, instead of away as it is in the film. He had this one done to honor his son Jack.
On his ankle, he has a skull and crossbones with the quote, "Death is Certain." Depp himself claims to be the only one who knows for sure what that means.
He also has several "permanent phone doodles" on his hands. One of which is the number 3 located between his thumb and index finger on his left hand. There are several small squares on his right index finger, left by years of tracing and re-tracing. He's also been know to cut himself and leave marks to add to his body art.
Recently, Depp has changed his knuckle tattoo, which read "SLIM" so that it now reads "SCUM". He also covered a pinup tattoo of his ex-wife, Amber Heard, with a black rectangle of ink, completely covering the tattoo.
