Shawn Barber is a renowned tattoo artist as well as being an accomplished traditional artist.
Shawn received his BFA in 1999 from the Ringling School of Art & Design, in Sarasota, FL. He has lectured and given painting demo's at several American universities and art institutions. He has also coordinated and taught painting and illustration for Ringling's Precollege Summer Program from 2000 to 2005; taught Drawing, Painting, Illustration and Portraiture for the Ringling School of Art from 2000-2004; taught Narrative Illustration for the MFA Illustration Department at the Academy of Art in San Francisco in 2005; and taught at the California College of Arts in San Francisco. Shawn has also lectured and given painting demo's for the ConceptArt.Org's Workshops in Prague, San Francisco and Montreal.
He has published the books Tattooed Portraits (2006) and Forever and Ever.
