A T&P Group (Tattoo and Piercing Group) is a term for informal and often underground "body modification clubs" that existed between the 1930s and 1980s, popularized through the work of people like Doug Malloy (who originally preferred the term Society of Saint Sebastian instead) and other early adopters of what we perceive as modern body modification such as Til. These clubs served as the catalyst for the birth of the body piercing industry via Jim Ward (Gauntlet and PFIQ) and others, as well as playing a very similar role to current online communities such as IAM (and offline, BME BBQs).
