Sarawak is the largest state in Malaysia, and home of the Sarawak Museum. Indigenous Sarawak people decorated themselves with brass, shell and lead jewelry as well as tattoos, particularly the Kayan, Kenyah, Iban and Kelabit. Strict guidelines, (as with most Tribal tattooing), regarding the placement, design, and gender to alter the meaning were established.
