The extremely rare horizontal lip piercing passes horizontally through the length of the (usually lower) lip. For comfort and mobility it is typically done with flexible jewelry (tygon, teflon, etc.).

first popularized by Lane Jensen of Dragon FX in Edmonton, Canada, where (as of fall/winter 2003) he writes that it has become quite popular.
