This doesn't seem on-topic enough to really be worth keeping. Lots of TV shows have talked about tattoos, and even if the skit were worth a mention, Spade himself is secondary at best. Seconds?

I agree completely. The entry is valid and on subject and should stay. I don't think stuff like this should be the PRIMARY focus of the encyclopedia, but readers LOVE the trivia stuff as much as the hard facts about mods. And many mod geeks (like me) get off on it too. (Sahnnon)

I think we're missing the point because it isn't emphasised in the text that he is receiving an *actual* tattoo, it just reads like a skit where two people are in a parlour. I'd edit it, but having not seen the episode in question (...actually, not sure I've seen any SNL, as such), I think it'd be better if someone else did, who had. Um, I'm not sure how much clearer this needs to be - On an episode of Saturday Night Live, Spade is seen walking through a tattoo parlour, making comments on different flash while trying to pick out a tattoo. Later he is seen receiving the tattoo from actor Sean Penn. (Jen)

...perhaps, "Later he is seen receiving the actual tattoo from actor sean penn, who, although not a tattoo artist... blahblah" (Sean Penn == an actor, he has no other skills, obvs). To me, it read like "this is a skit about tattoos and what flash is like and oh isn't it funny" - again, this is something that may well be blatantly obvious on the actual show, and my ignorance, but, if some of us didn't get it, then there's going to be others in the same boat. I dunno, maybe someone else who has seen it wants to change the wording but I think "Later he is seen receiving the tattoo from actor Sean Penn." is pretty clear. No one else said they didn't get what was happening, they said they felt it was not important enough to add or whatever, which I don't think it is and neither does Shannon. I just don't know how else to say "Sean Penn tattooed David Spade on tv" to make it more clear, other than that, which is not a very good sentence. He has a tattoo of Calvin (from the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip), on his bicep (?), which he received on an episode of Saturday Night Live. In the skit, Spade is seen walking through a tattoo parlour, making comments on different flash while trying to pick out a tattoo. I guess. I think it's clear as is, along with the photo of it being done and the quote from David Spade where he says "if it matters, yes it's real"...
